Baylee Porterfield grew up on a farm near Sioux City, Iowa with her family raising livestock and helping on the family hay farm. She attended Iowa Lakes Community College to play softball and receive her associates degree. Baylee continued her softball career and education at Mount Mercy University and graduated with bachelor degrees in marketing and management in 2018.

She joined Smith Landscape Design & Co. in April 2022 as a general laborer. She says it was one of the best decisions she has made...transitioning from an office desk job to working outdoors, where customers appreciate the hard work, we do for their homes. Baylee also assists in the office with marketing and sales. She is grateful to be working for a company with a great reputation and relationships with their customers. She is excited to take on each project and looks forward to learning more each year.

Baylee and her husband, Hunter, live in Cedar Rapids with their two dogs and urban chickens. In her free time, when she isn't digging in the dirt, she enjoys gardening, sewing/crafting, paddle boarding with her dogs and camping.
